Smoother Skin Using Botox

Smoother Skin Using Botox

We now offer facial aesthetics at our Ipswich dental practice, for younger looking skin.

There comes a certain time in life when we notice that our skin has lost its once youthful appearance. Lines start to appear in places they hadn’t before and we generally start to look our age.

Whilst some people are happy to let this happen, a growing number of people are opting to have facial aesthetic treatments to help reverse these signs and maintain younger looking skin for as long as possible.

At the Foxhall Dental Practice we are pleased to offer treatments for this ‘problem’ in the form of Botox injections. Whilst these have sometimes received a bad reputation in the press, the procedure is both successful and perfectly safe in the hand of skilled professionals such as those at our Ipswich dental practice.

The procedure

Botox injections can be used to smooth skin and reduce lines and wrinkles. Some of the most common areas that are treated in this way include:

  • Forehead frown lines
  • Lines at the edges of the eyes

To correct these issues, a small amount of Botox is injected just under the surface of the skin in the relevant areas. Whilst you may experience a slight prick as the fine needle enters the skin, there should be no major discomfort. The Botox works by relaxing the muscles and causing them to contract, leaving the skin significantly smoother. You should start to see results within a few days, with the full results visible after a week or so.

It is worth mentioning that there may be some minor bruising in the area of the injections. This should only last for a few days before returning to normal, but you may wish to arrange your appointment at a convenient time to work around this.

Can Botox go wrong?

Whilst some people may be concerned about some of the images they have seen in the media, where Botox treatment has gone badly wrong, we assure you that you are in very safe hands with our facial aesthetics team. It is almost certain that those cases that went badly wrong were either performed by unskilled practitioners or where normal, safe parameters were far exceeded.

We reserve the right to refuse treatment to any patient where we consider it to be inappropriate or risky to their general well-being.
